There were several massive earthquakes in the Philippines on Saturday night, December 2nd, 2023. The largest of these had a magnitude of 7.6. Several other earthquakes and aftershocks were felt throughout the next day.
The people of the Philippines are traumatized as many homes were damaged or destroyed. Filipinos are being asked by local authorities to stay home or in evacuation centers. Travel is being discouraged at this time.
There were concerns of a tsunami wave hitting the coast on Saturday, but this warning was lifted after several hours.
